Timo Werner’s mammoth Chelsea wage packet revealed

Timo Werner’s mammoth Chelsea wage packet revealed

Wednesday has seen an insight provided into the kind of wages afforded to Timo Werner by Premier League giants Chelsea on an annual basis.

Blues stint

German hitman Werner of course made the move to Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2020, on the back of another scintillating campaign in his home country, with RB Leipzig.

All told, though, the 25-year-old’s Premier League experience has since proven a hit-and-miss one.

Werner, to his credit, is now a European champion, after playing a central role in Chelsea marching all the way to Champions League glory back in May.

And though his work-rate, attitude and even, surprisingly, creative exploits have proven of the highest standard whilst a Blue, the attacker has come in for deserved criticism for regular profligacy in front of goal.

Werner, across 52 appearances in all competitions in 2020/21, managed to find the net on a paltry 12 occasions.

Such woes, meanwhile, have since continued into the new campaign, with the German yet to get off the mark across a trio of appearances (though he has netted twice in two outings for his country over the last week).

Werner’s wages

Such disappointing returns mean that it came as little surprise when Werner was inevitably tipped for a Chelsea exit during the summer, after just one season with the club.

Serie A champions Inter Milan are understood to have made an approach for the 25-year-old, amid the negotiations between the respective boards at the San Siro and Stamford Bridge surrounding Romelu Lukaku.

Werner himself, though, ultimately turned the Nerazzurri’s advances down, keen to prove himself in the English capital.

And, as outlined above, on Wednesday, an insight into just how much the attacker is set to be paid whilst pushing to turn his Chelsea fortunes around has been forthcoming online.

The info comes courtesy of reliable German reporter Christian Falk, who has confirmed that Werner’s current terms in west London see him take home over €20 million per season:
