Timo Werner reacts to disruptive fan who tells him to ‘get out of the club’ at training session

Chelsea’s German international forward Timo Werner was the target of negative fan backlash during a recent open training session at Stamford Bridge as the Blues prepare to face London rivals Arsenal on Sunday at the Emirates Stadium.

As faithful club supporters looked on from the lower stands at the ground, one disruptive fan announced on the stadium PA system that Werner should ‘get out of the club.’

His actions were immediately met with opposition from other Chelsea supporters, however, as one supportive fan was seen on video to immediately rise in the defense of the under-fire German striker, while others in the crowd levied boos in his direction.

Werner thanks supportive fans via social media; hopeful of Lukaku partnership

But the former RB Leipzig hitman did not get beaten down by the event and took to his personal Twitter and Instagram accounts to say thank you to those that turned up at Stamford Bridge during the open fan event.

And that same support could very much come in handy this season for the Stuttgart-native and Die Schwaben academy product after his struggles to adapt to life in the Premier League have yet to bear fruit in a goal return akin to the numbers he produced during his time in Saxony with RBL.

Werner is upbeat about a potential partnership with the returning Romelu Lukaku given his history in a dual-striker system at Leipzig, where his partnership with Danish center-forward Yussuf Poulsen benefitted him immeasurably.

Werner smashed 78-goals and added 32-assists in just 127-appearances for Die Roten Bullen across four seasons at Red Bull Arena, and if he can find his footing on English shores and form a budding partnership with Lukaku, there are not many fans that will wish him to bid him adieu any time soon.
