Thor: Love and Thunder India release date postponed to Thursday, July 7

Thor: Love and Thunder will now be released on Thursday, July 7 in Indian cinemas, a day earlier than originally planned. Disney Star and Marvel India revealed the new release date for Thor: Love and Thunder in India on Friday via the latter’s social media channels, although he did not provide any reason as to why this was happening. What this means is that the fourth Thor The film will be released in India ahead of the US, Canada, UK and Ireland, where the new Marvel movie is set to open on Friday, July 8. The India release of Thor: Love and Thunder is now live with Chile, Denmark, Mexico, Malaysia, Portugal, Singapore and a bunch of other markets.
“Get ready for the ultimate ‘THORSDAY’! Marvel Studios (Thor Love and Thunder) hits cinemas in India the day before, July 7th,” Marvel India wrote on Twitter and Instagram. In a press release, Disney Star added, “Indian fans rejoice… Thor is back, this time a day earlier in India!! Marvel Studios’ big-money cosmic adventure Thor: Love and Thunder will be released in India on July 7, 2022, one day before the US release! With that, two of the last three Marvel Cinematic Universe films – Spider-Man: No Way Home being the other – were released on a Thursday in India, a day before their US release.
Of course, this isn’t the only time Disney Star has placed Marvel movie release dates in India ahead of the US. This has happened rarely since the first Thor movie, which released a full week before the US date in 2011. Indian MCU fans were treated the same for the first The Avengers encounter movie in 2012, with the third and final standalone Iron Man movie in 2013 and the second crossover chapter Avengers: Age of Ultron. During these years, some films — from The ant Man For guardians of the galaxy – were also brought a week late to India. This has rarely been the case since 2015, with Ant-Man sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp being the only exception.
Written and directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Christian Bale as the villainous Gorr the Butcher God, Tessa Thompson as the new Asgard King Valkyrie, Jaimie Alexander as the role of Asgardian warrior Sif, Waititi as gladiator Kronan Korg, Russell Crowe as King of the Olympians Zeus, and Natalie Portman as astrophysicist and ex-girlfriend of Thor Jane Foster/Mighty Thor. Guardians of the Galaxy is also featured, with Chris Pratt, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper reprising their respective MCU roles as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Mantis, Drax, Nebula, Groot and Rocket.
Thor: Love and Thunder will be released on July 7 in India in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
