The Twitter Blue subscription is now also available on Android

Twitter Blue is finally available for purchase through the Android app, just days after social media announced a new payment plan for an annual subscription. The price for the magic blue tick is $11 per month, just like iOS, more than 35% more than what it costs on the web.

Twitter doesn’t cite the reason for the huge price difference, but it’s obvious the company wants to offload Play Store fees for in-app purchases onto users rather than paying for them itself.

Twitter Blue users receive priority ranking in replies, the ability to edit tweets, and a 60-minute cap on video uploads (web only). There are also custom app icons, easier navigation of tagged tweets, lined up in folders, and the app can have a different theme.

The mobile-only features are navigation bar customization, as well as the Reader feature that simplifies long threads for a better reading experience.

Twitter Blue is currently available in Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, United Kingdom and United States.
