The training method Tottenham are having to use following Covid-19 outbreak
Tottenham vs Liverpool
Tottenham are expected to be back in Premier League action this weekend.
Spurs are scheduled to play host to Liverpool in Sunday’s late Premier League kick-off.
The Lilywhites head into the game down in 7th place in the Premier League table. However, a trio of the club’s recent outings were of course postponed due to a combination of adverse weather conditions and Covid-19 outbreaks, meaning Spurs have played three games less than many of the clubs around them.
Should they win all of those games, the Lilywhites would move up to 4th in the Premier League table.
However, the north Londoners face a pretty major task this weekend when they take on Liverpool. The Reds are the top scorers in the division this term, and have lost just once in all competitions this season.
How Tottenham are training following Covid-19 outbreak
Conte confirmed last week that Spurs had eight first-team players out with the virus.
He then revealed on Wednesday that Tottenham had only 16 players training ahead of their clash with Leicester, which was eventually postponed.
Now, with Tottenham’s game with Liverpool still currently set to go ahead, an insight into how Spurs have been training during the outbreak has been provided.
As confirmed by Conte himself, once Tottenham returned to training, they had to train with mannequins as they did not have the required players to train normally:
“For three days we didn’t have a training session and then we had a training session with only 10, 12 players
“It wasn’t easy to face this situation and to train the players. To have 12 players is very difficult. Usually, if you want to try a formation, you need 20 players and it’s not simple to do this. You have to train with mannequins and I stopped. It’s not easy. It’s not the same.”
