The three players Chelsea want to tie down to new contracts once they wrap up Christensen & Rudiger deals

An insight into Chelsea’s contract plans going forward has been provided on Tuesday.

Rudiger & Christensen contacts

The main two Chelsea stars mentioned when it comes to contract negotiations of late have been Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

Christensen is tied down to Chelsea until 2022 at present, but recent reports suggest the Dane is close to a new deal:

Antonio Rudiger is also in the final year of his Chelsea contract. The defender provided an update on his contract situation last month, and it did look to be good news for fans of the German, with the player confirming that he had opened talks with Chelsea over extending his deal:

However, we have heard very little on that front since, prompting Chelsea fans to plead with the club to sign Rudiger to a new deal on Sunday after his latest starring display vs Tottenham.

Chelsea’s contract plans

Now, as mentioned above, an insight into Chelsea’s contract plans have been provided on Tuesday.

As reported by the Evening Standard:

Chelsea want to secure the futures of a host of key players once new deals for Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger are finalised.

They add that, whilst Christensen and Rudiger are seen as immediate priorities, Chelsea are also keen to get their long-term planning in place for players considered vital to the club’s success.

The ES claim that Chelsea want to avoid any uncertainty over N’Golo Kante and Jorginho and have planned negotiations with the duo since the end of last season.

Mason Mount is also named as a player the Londoners want to sign a new deal, but there is less urgency over that due to his contract expiring in 2024.
