The Super Bowl ad from Super Mario Bros. takes an impressive direction

Super Bowl commercials are a huge deal and we usually see buckets of big movie trailers debuting during the big game. This year, Illumination and Nintendo are releasing a brand new trailer for the upcoming Super Mario Bros movie. and it’s… not what I expected.
Instead of revealing new footage, this trailer is for Mario heads. It’s a complete remake of the old-school Mario Rap intro to The Super Mario Bros. Super Show which ran from 1989 to December 1991 and starred Lou Albano as Mario.
Here is the original if you want to compare…
I’m obsessed. As a longtime Mario fan who absolutely remembers this rap, it’s a perfect way to bring idiots like me on board for the next film. There’s also a new website that you definitely need to check out.
The movie Super Mario Bros. is set to hit US theaters on April 7 and stars Chris Pratt as Mario, Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Jack Black as Bowser, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, and Keegan-Michael Key as Toad.
New movies coming in 2023 from Marvel, Netflix, DC and more
