The Sh0cking Thing Police Officers Told Me At A Checkpoint — Fmr. Presidential Aspirant, Remi Sonaiya, Reveals
Former presidential aspirant, Remi Sonaiya has shared her experience with Nigerian police whilst using the road.
The police in Nigeria are being accused of extorting money from road users and Remi Sonaiya seems to have encountered one and took to her Twitter page to share it with her followers.
Remi Sonaiya revealed that she pulled over at a police check point and what one of the police officers told her was that ‘Ah, we just want to collect food money from our mummy’.
Taken aback by this, Remi wondered where you would begin from in order to address such total lack of professionalism and self-respect.
Reacting to her narration, an IG user @ericahaiwe wrote; “We can start from politicians reviewing the salaries of policemen and women, and paying them as at when due. The country is hard and frustrating. I know there are some bad eggs in the police force, who feel entitled to peoples money. However, the government and the top bosses in charge of paying police men shoul pay them when due and review their salaries too.
Make them proud of the work that they do”
