Samsung has yet to announce the launch date for the Galaxy S23 smartphones, but before that, rumors of the next-gen Galaxy S flagship smartphones have started surfacing online. The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, which is expected to go official in 2024, is expected to bring some camera improvements. The South Korean smartphone brand is said to be packing a new telephoto camera sensor on the alleged smartphone and it might adopt a new solution. The Galaxy S23 Ultra is expected to come with a quad rear camera unit with a 200-megapixel sensor.

Ice Universe Reliable Tipster (@UniverseIce) on Twitter, complaints that Samsung will replace the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s telephoto sensor and may adopt a new solution. The tipster doesn’t say which telephoto sensor will be updated, but does add that the main camera will either remain the same as in the Galaxy S23 Ultra or be tweaked slightly.

Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S23 Ultra alongside the Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 in early February at a Galaxy Unpacked event in the United States. So we can expect more details regarding the 2024 flagship models to surface post-launch.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is expected to feature a quad rear camera setup led by a 200-megapixel primary sensor. The camera unit would also include a secondary 108-megapixel sensor and two 12-megapixel sensors. It could also pack a 12-megapixel sensor on the front.

A recent TENAA listing rocked a 6.8-inch screen with a resolution of 1440×3088 pixels on the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. It is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and a maximum of 1TB of onboard storage. The purported handset will likely be backed by a 5,000mAh battery.
