The Mandalorian Season 3 will debut in February 2023 on Disney+, Disney announced Thursday during the Star Wars Celebration event. This means those in India will be able to watch the third season of the Pedro Pascal-directed space western series on Disney+ Hotstar at the same time. The exact The Mandalorian The release date for Season 3 has yet to be announced, however. The third season of The Mandalorian will, in any case, be released nearly two years after the final episode of the second aired on December 18, 2020. This discrepancy was reportedly caused by the team being busy with the other Star Wars series Obi Wan Kenobi and The Book of Boba Fett. It’s also been rumored that Pascal doesn’t have any dates, as he’s been busy with HBO’s live-action adaptation of The Last of Us PlayStation game series. The Mandalorian Season 3 finally wrapped filming earlier this year on March 29.

That said, The Mandalorian Season 3 actually began when the titular bounty hunter Din Djarin and his ward Grogu appeared in a few episodes of The Book of Boba Fett. In fact, The Book of Boba Fett Episode 5 explored the events that led to him being kicked out of the order for breaking a Mandalore custom by removing his helmet. And in the following episode, Djarin found Grogu, much earlier than expected. The Mandalorian Season 3 will pick up where The Boba Fett Book left off, with Djarin returning to his home planet Mandalore to ask for forgiveness.

Besides Pascal and Sackhoff, The Mandalorian Season 3 cast includes returning members Giancarlo Esposito as antagonist Moff Gideon, Carl Weathers as bounty hunter guild leader Moff Gideon, and Emily Swallow as leader of a tribe of Mandalorian warriors The Armorer. Christopher Lloyd is said to be the star guest on the show. Weathers will also direct at least one episode.

When it premiered in 2019, The Mandalorian became the most-watched Disney+ original series. It was followed by the second season, which received positive reviews from critics. It would be interesting to see if the third installment lives up to those standards.

The Mandalorian season 3 will be released in February 2023 on Disney+ in the United States and on Disney+ Hotstar in India.
