Ralph Rangnick has stepped into the breach vacated by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last week, signing a six-month contract with a further two months on a consultancy basis.

However, he will not be in the dugout for their clash with Arsenal on Thursday night, as a result of visa and work permit issues further complicated by the new variant of Covid-19 found in Europe.
While he will be in charge until the end of the season, he will step aside come May, meaning that Manchester United will once again be looking for a new manager again very soon, with an announcement even potentially coming before the end of the campaign.
Speculation swirled for the first few days around the likes of Mauricio Pochettino, Luis Enrique, Erik Ten Hag or even Rudi Garcia to step into the void, with the first three considered on a permanent basis, but is there another option?
Surprise option in Mancini?
Now, the Red Devils have been linked with a former Manchester City manager, in the form of Italy boss Roberto Mancini.
Fresh off the back of Euro 2020 glory with the Azzurri, he has nonetheless failed to qualify automatically with the Italians for the 2022 World Cup, and now face the potential of being knocked out by Portugal in the play-offs, with the two sides drawn against each other.
