Tottenham hit by COVID-19 outbreak
News broke on Tuesday that Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur side had been hit by a COVID-19 outbreak at the club, with six players and two members of staff having tested positive for the virus.

In the days since, two further players, and three more members of staff, have tested positive, putting their preparation for this week’s fixtures into major doubt.

Tottenham host Rennes in the Europa Conference League on Thursday night, needing a win to ensure that they qualify from Europe’s third-tier competition. Then, on Sunday, they face Brighton in the Premier League.
Speaking ahead of the game, Antonio Conte revealed just how difficult the situation was, saying:
“But now we have 11 players available and today we prepared the game with one player that should play then we finished the session and this player was positive.”
So, what will happen to their games.

As has been widely reported, Tottenham are due to try and get their clash with Brighton in the Premier League postponed.

However, there is less good news on the Conference League front, with UEFA still planning on ensuring that the Lilywhites fulfil their fixture with the French side, despite the fact that Tottenham only have 10 senior outfield players fit.
