Tottenham vs Man City

Manchester City’s Premier League title defence will begin later this weekend.

The Citizens will play out the final PL clash of the game week on Sunday afternoon, facing off with Tottenham in a 4:30 PM UK time kick-off.

The Sky Blues head into the game on the back of their 1-0 loss to Leicester City in the Community Shield.

Man City had a fairly weak starting elven for the game, but still managed to make it a tight affair against a close to full strength Leicester side.

Pep Guardiola and co. must now turn their attentions to a new-look Tottenham team with Nuno Espirito Santo at the helm.

Spurs would have a decent pre-season overall, picking up a 1-0 win over Arsenal last weekend and should prove a stern test for a City side who look set to be without some of their key players this weekend.

Phil Foden & Kevin De Bruyne out of Tottenham game

One of which is Kevin De Bruyne, who Pep confirmed last weekend was still out, then on Friday the City boss stated that KDB is still not able to do full training sessions:

“He is getting better [De Bruyne]. Every day he is getting better. But we are still waiting. He can’t do a full training session. Some with us, some alone. We will see in the next few days.”

Another player set to miss out is Phil Foden, who the Spaniard confirmed is injured:

“Every player needs time to get his best. Yesterday was the first day we were altogether, except Phil because he is injured – but he was in the locker room with us.”
