The latest on Ilkay Gundogan ahead of Man City’s meeting with Norwich
An update on Ilkay Gundogan’s potential involvement for Manchester City vs Norwich has emerged on Tuesday.
Man City vs Norwich
Manchester City’s 2021/22 Premier League campaign did not get off to a great start.
Despite dominating in large periods, City lost 1-0 away to Tottenham on the opening weekend.
Pep Guardiola and co. should, however, have a much easier test this time around.
The Sky Blues are set to play host to Norwich City in a 3 PM kick-off this coming Saturday.
The Canaries did not get their Premier League return off to a great start, losing 3-0 at home to Liverpool last weekend. And a similar drubbing is likely coming their way this week as well.
Ilkay Gundogan update
Ahead of the clash with Norwich, an update on Man City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has emerged online.
The German appeared to have a problem with his shoulder towards the back end of the Spurs loss – something Pep Guardiola then confirmed post-match:
Gundogan to be assessed: “It was something in his shoulder,” Pep said post-match. “We will see what happens tomorrow with the doctor. it looks like something happened.”

And now, a fresh update has been forthcoming on Tuesday. It isn’t great news, though, with it claimed Gundogan is expected to miss out vs Norwich.
One positive, however, is that the injury isn’t believed to be too serious:
Ilkay Gundogan is expected to miss the match against Norwich on Saturday, but the shoulder injury, he suffered late in the game on Sunday, isn’t “too serious” according to @MikeMinay #MCFC
