The latest Manchester City injury news ahead of Chelsea
Chelsea vs Man City
This weekend’s marquee Premier League tie takes place in west London, as Chelsea play host to Manchester City in a 12:30 pm UK time kick-off.
Two of the strongest sides in the division, Saturday’s clash could have huge ramifications for the title race come May.
Chelsea head into the weekend’s action sat top of the Premier League with 13 points from 15 in their opening five outings.
Man City, on the other hand, have not had the best of starts to the current campaign.
The Sky Blues would drop points vs Tottenham on the opening weekend, losing 1-0 to the Lilywhites.
And, this past weekend, Man City would be forced to settle for a 0-0 draw with Southampton, and start the weekend down in 5th as a result.
Man City injury update ahead of Chelsea
Ahead of the tie, Pep Guardiola has spoken to the press on Friday.
The Spaniard would be asked about the Citizen’s current injury issues heading into the game.
All of John Stones, Aymeric Laporte, Rodri and Oleksandr Zinchenko would miss the aforementioned draw with Southampton last weekend through injury.
And, when speaking on Friday, though he did not drop any names, it does look as though some of those names may still be sidelined for Saturday’s clash:
We still have a few injuries. Some of them came back a little bit in training and we will decide if they can play or not… we need to see how they react, tomorrow we will see.
