Season 2 of The Last of Us will likely arrive in late 2024 or early 2025. As reported by The Independent, star Bella Ramsey appeared on The Jonathan Ross show, confirming that they will “probably be filming at the end of this year , beginning of the next”. .” Their statement coincides with earlier claims from co-lead Pedro Pascal, where he suggested production on The Last of Us season 2 could begin in 2023. The HBO show’s second chapter will adapt the events of The Last of Us. Us Part II, the bloody and polarizing sequel to the first game, with series co-creators Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin confirming that the story will take more than a season to unfold.

“It will be a while,” Ramsey said in the interview. “I think we’ll probably shoot at the end of this year, beginning of next. So it’ll probably be late 2024, early 2025.” With The Last of Us Part II being a much longer game than the first and featuring brutal action sequences guiding the story, it makes sense that the story would be split into smaller parts and spread over several seasons. In an interview with GQ, Mazin didn’t confirm if the arc would end with Season 3, suggesting the possibility of a longer, more fleshed-out adaptation. It could also mean that HBO wants to milk the franchise as much as possible. At this point, who knows? But Mazin promised “interesting things” in The Last of Us season 2, regarding the number of infected on screen and the action sets, which was a fan complaint with the first season.

Season 2 of The Last of Us will see Pascal and Ramsey reprise their roles as Joel and Ellie, respectively.
