Well-known Apple rumor and analysis purveyor Ming-Chi Kuo is back today with a report that the next iPhone SE will be built on the iPhone 14 chassis, with a 6 inch OLED display. .1 inches same size. And so it would be the first iPhone SE to use OLED and not LCD. The panel can be manufactured by BOE.

Additionally, it will be the first iPhone to use Apple’s in-house developed 5G baseband chip, which is supposed to be manufactured on a 4nm process and only supports Sub6 5G, not mmWave. The next iPhone SE will serve as a guinea pig for this chip – if there are any issues, they will show up in the cheapest iPhone, not any of the much more lucrative expensive models.

Whether the iPhone 16 series in 2024 will use Apple’s 5G chip remains to be seen. For now, the main technical obstacles to overcome are related to mmWave and satellite communications, which the chip should support in order to integrate the iPhones Pro.

Production of the next iPhone SE is expected to start in the first half of 2024. Due to the slow phase-out of Qualcomm modems, Qualcomm’s Apple business is expected to decline “significantly” over the next 2-3 years.
