The Grand Tour Presents: A Scandi Flick Release Date, Trailer Revealed by Amazon Prime Video

The Grand Tour Presents: A Scandi Flick has just received its first official trailer, ahead of its September 16 premiere. On Thursday, Amazon Prime Video released the trailer, showcasing some clips from the latest installment of its muscle car-focused series. The iconic trio – Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May – are back to journey through the frozen lands of Norway, as they engage in a ton of snowy fun and rally car racing. The feature special, “A Scandi Flick”, takes its name from the actual driving technique involving oversteer and weight shifts.

Having tried their hand at bomb defusing and propeller driven cars in ‘Carnage A Trois’, the trio will now experience racing on frozen lakes while wreaking havoc in Norway. “We’re here to drive through Europe’s last great wilderness,” host and star Clarkson reads on his phone in the trailer for The Grand Tour Presents: A Scandi Flick. He then cuts to clips of the trio dragging skiers across the terrain, while strapped to their race cars. “One of them [skiers] only has one leg,” Clarkson notes in amazement. The Grand Tour was limited to Scotland, England and Wales during the lockdowns – the trio live in the UK – due to COVID-19 restrictions.

While Hammond and May brought high-speed rally cars such as the Subaru Impreza STi and Mitsubishi Evolution VIII for the special, Clarkson will drive a safer Audi. As for the reason, he jokingly remarks that it’s simply because he’s now “older.” With The Grand Tour: A Scandi Flick, fans can expect to see a range of pranks and stunts, starting with May dragging an entire bus stop, to high-speed races through neon-lit tunnels. . “Oh my God! The lights won’t come on,” Clarkson shouts as the light bulbs inside the dark walls struggle to keep up with his run.

When filming with vehicles in such low temperatures and with frequent blizzards, the motors have to shut down and eventually freeze the entire hull. To counter this, the Grand Tour hosts try to set the car on fire, before moving on to Cold War submarine bases, and a bunch of thrilling crashes as they try to pull a wooden shed to through the desert. The end of The Grand Tour Presents: A Scandi Flick trailer shows the trio exiting a makeshift domed house, which turns out to be a museum exhibit. The hosts presumably sheltered there all night, waking to find unsuspecting tourists circling the area. “I didn’t wear any pants,” Hammond said in an embarrassed tone.

The Grand Tour Presents: A Scandi Flick premieres September 16, exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. Previously in Season 4 – which began in 2019, turning the series into feature-length specials only – the trio traveled to Vietnam, Reunion, Madagascar and across the UK.
