The games Thomas Partey is expected to miss following Arsenal injury update

Partey injured vs Chelsea

Arsenal would take on Chelsea in a pre-season friendly last Sunday.

The Gunners would lose the tie 2-1, but the result was far from the biggest concern on the day.

That instead came during the first half, when Thomas Partey limped off the pitch:

What games will Thomas Partey miss?

Arsenal kick off their Premier League campaign on Friday, August 13th, vs newly-promoted Brentford.

And the Gunners faithful were no doubt desperate to see Partey back for this game.

However, Arsenal have since provided a team news update on Saturday and it isn’t great for Partey, with the club confirming that Partey is expected to be back in training in approximately three weeks:

Thomas Partey Right ankle.

Thomas sustained an injury to ligaments in his right ankle during the friendly match against Chelsea last Sunday. Thomas continues to be assessed and is expected to be back in training in approximately three weeks.

Three weeks from the day of the update would be Saturday, August 28th. Arsenal will play Brentford, Chelsea and Manchester City in this period, with the City game falling on the 28th.

So, Partey does look to be 100 per cent ruled out of the Brentford and Chelsea games, and with Arsenal facing City on the day he will reportedly be back, that clash also looks set to come too soon for the midfielder.

The international break then follows the Man City clash, with Arsenal’s next meeting against Norwich on September 11th, a game Partey does look set to be back for going off Saturday’s update from Arsenal.

In the same report, Arsenal also provided updates on Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Magalhaes, which can be seen below:

Eddie Nketiah Right ankle.

Eddie sustained bruising to his right ankle during the friendly match against Chelsea last Sunday. Eddie continues to be assessed and is expected to be back in training in approximately four weeks.

Gabriel Magalhaes Right knee.

Gabriel sustained an injury to his right knee whilst with the Brazilian Olympic Squad. Gabriel is currently being assessed and is aiming to be back in training in the forthcoming weeks.
