The Flash season 9 will be final, Arrowverse is more or less coming to an end

the flash will finally end its nearly decade-long run on The CW in 2023. An exclusive report from The Wrap has confirmed that the Arrowverse show will end with its ninth season, with 13 episodes down the stretch. This is the shortest season it has aired and is set to premiere on the network’s mid-season schedule, starting in January. Earlier this year, the flash frontman Grant Gustin agreed to a one-year contract, adding to speculation that the series would end.

“Nine seasons! Nine years of saving Central City while taking audiences on an emotional journey full of heart, humor and spectacle. And now Barry Allen has reached the starting grid for his final race,” The Flash executive producer Eric Wallace said in a statement to The Wrap. the flash was introduced on the CW network as a spin-off for Arrow, based on the DC Comics character Green Arrow. Both shows, alongside Melissa Benoist super girlspawned an entire smaller DC Universe called the Arrowverse, dedicated to television.

the flash Gustin previously reportedly signed a new one-year contract, ending his reign playing “the fastest man alive”. At the time, it was suggested the deal required him to do 15 episodes for Season 9, but now it appears to have been cut to 13. His sister show Arrow concluded with season 8 in 2020, while super girl hung up his cape last year.

While excellent at first, the Arrowverse struggled with general direction and continuity issues. Over the years, the CGI has become abysmal, and even CW has drawn attention away from DC Comics properties. Currently, the network offers three comic book shows, none of which are related to the Arrowverse: star girl, Superman and Loisand the upcoming Gotham Knights series – separate from the video game.

the flash season 9 will bring back Candice Patton (Iris West), Danielle Panabaker (Caitlin Snow) and Jesse L Martin (Joe West), the last of which has committed to no less than five episodes, as confirmed by Deadline.

Season 9 is expected to air in January 2023. In India, the flash streamed on Amazon Prime Video.
