The fee Arsenal are expected to net from two players next summer revealed, Mikel Arteta interested in January move for midfielder

Two updates concerning potential Arsenal transfer business have emerged on Monday.

Arsenal set for financial windfall

The first concerns potential outgoings at Arsenal that would likely see the club net a nice little sum of money in the upcoming summer.

Both Matteo Guendouzi and Dinos Mavropanos are currently loaned out by Arsenal. However, though Guendouzi in particular has impressed during his loan spell with Marseille, including vs PSG on Sunday, both are expected to depart the club this summer.

As per, Mavropanos and Guendouzi are both set to leave Arsenal on permanent deals next summer.

The former of that duo is currently on loan at Stuttgart, with FL reporting that the German outfit paid a €500,000 loan fee for the defender and have an obligation of €3m to buy him in the summer of 2022.

That option is not valid if Stuttgart are relegated. But they are currently unbeaten in four league ties and do not look set for a relegation scrap this term. Stuttgart also have an option to buy if they don’t reach their team objectives this season, meaning Mavropanos departing Arsenal is all but certain.

Elsewhere, Guendouzi’s €11m permanent option will be triggered by Marseille should they avoid relegation this season, which is again a very likely scenario given they are currently fighting for a top-four place.

So, it does look as though Arsenal will be set for an extra €14m come the summer thanks to the sales of Guendouzi and Mavropanos.

Arteta eyeing midfielder

In other Arsenal news, Spanish outlet Fichajes are reporting that Mikel Arteta is interested in signing Real Betis midfielder William Carvalho in January.

One of the reasons given for this is because of the problems Arteta is facing with Thomas Partey.

Partey has been fairly injury-prone since his move to Arsenal and is also due to take part in the African Cup of Nations in January.

So, it would make sense for Arsenal to be eyeing up some fresh midfield reinforcements in the winter, especially with Granit Xhaka also currently sidelined.
