The best TVs we saw at CES 2023

If there’s one thing you can count on CES to be, it’s to be a showcase for dazzling TVs. CES 2023 brought the goods, introducing plenty of interesting TVs. However, some caught our attention more than others. LG shocked us with an OLED and wireless model, while Samsung continued to innovate with its use of MicroLEDs. LG Signature OLED M

It wouldn’t be CES without a flashy LG TV and the company didn’t disappoint this year. Although the LG press conference showed off a transparent TV, it’s in the Signature M that the real magic happens. This huge 97-inch OLED M not only has all the high-end picture elements you want – Dolby Vision, extraordinary black levels, vivid colors – but it also streams elements wirelessly from your devices. This involves a 4K/120Hz wireless connection from a signage box that can live up to 30 feet away. Beat that, Bluetooth.

Samsung MicroLED CX

It may look like any medium-sized TV, but it uses a specific display technology that makes it stand out. As the name suggests, the Samsung MicroLED CX uses MicroLEDs instead of LCD pixels, and while this has the potential for better image quality, it is also turned out horribly expensive. Samsung says this 76-inch isn’t just the “world’s smallest and most affordable MicroLED display,” but also doesn’t require professional installation. It’ll probably still cost as much as a car, but whether it’s closer to a Ford Focus or a Lotus Elise is yet to be announced.

LG G3 OLED

If you’re not a billionaire, you might be interested in this TV, which is more affordable to the rest of us. The G3 OLED is, for most people, this year’s true flagship, and it delivers better pictures than before. The G3 uses a combination of a new image processing engine and optical filters to extract 70% more brightness from the 55, 65 and 77 inch models compared to last year.

Hisense ULED X

“Our engineers were tasked with making the best LED TV available, and they delivered with ULED X,” said David Gold, President of Hisense USA. That’s a big call, David. The 85-inch offers over 5,000 dimming zones and super high brightness of 2,500 nits, which is 500 more than the new LG G3 above.

TCLQM8

TCL has gone from strength to strength in recent years, with its 6-Series in particular offering exceptional image quality for its money. At this year’s CES, TCL showcased a the entire range of 2023 televisions, which includes the flagship QM8 – and what TV it is. It’s a 98-inch monster with Mini-LED backlighting and up to 2,800 dimming zones.

Move the TV

Prepare to be shocked. Displace TV is a starter project with a 55-inch OLED screen that attaches to your wall or window using only suction cups. “Wireless” was the TV buzzword at this year’s CES event, and this cutting-edge technology is rapidly evolving. Speaking of wireless, this TV also doesn’t come with a remote control. Instead, you can control it with gestures or through an app.
