Tecno presents the foldable Phantom Vision V concept with a twist
Tecno wants you to know it’s serious about innovation. After having created a retractable portrait camera in a smartphone, it now presents a concept of a rollable sliding screen phone.
Meet the Tecno Phantom Vision V – the device that aims to spell the death of tablets, but still fits in your pocket. It folds to the size of an almost normal smartphone, but if needed it can expand to fit a medium-sized tablet.
The Tecno Phantom Vision V starts out like any regular foldable when folded, well most of the time. It has a screen on the front, while on the back it has a triple camera. Tecno has added a small display on the back, which it calls a back-to-back cover. It will show notifications, reminders, and an always-on display-style clock.
Unfold the Vision V, revealing a larger interior screen, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold4, Xiaomi Mix Fold2 or vivo X Fold+. But the Techno Phantom Vision V concept can also extend its internal screen by deploying it to 10.1 inches.
The screen is made up of 11 functional layers, giving it both flexibility and durability. The case is made of “aerospace-grade” titanium, so it’s also very durable.
The Tecno Phantom Vision V is a concept and Tecno has not revealed whether it will ever come to a commercially available product. But I hope it is, because who wouldn’t?
