Strava brings Spotify integration for easy music browsing during activities

Strava today announced a new partnership with Spotify, integrating the streaming platform into its own mobile app. Now you can link your favorite songs, playlists and podcasts to the Activity Hub and listen to music instantly without having to switch between apps.

A music note will appear in the Save tab, fetching playlists and suggested tracks directly from Spotify. Premium users can play their favorite tracks and curated playlists, while Free users will listen to everything the audio app usually feeds them, including intermittent commercials.

The feature will be available to all Strava users, free and paid for the Summit subscription, and will require a unique link between the two platforms. One thing Spotify Premium users will miss in the integration is the ability to listen to music and podcasts offline – Strava needs a mobile or Wi-Fi connection to keep the audio stream alive.

The groundbreaking new feature that eliminates the need to switch between apps should be coming to Android and iOS users starting today.
