Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Teaser Trailer Out, Game Coming 2023

The Star Wars Jedi: Survivor trailer has been released and is slated for release in 2023. Publisher Electronic Arts (EA) has unveiled a nearly 1.5-minute trailer for the sequel to the popular 2019 fight from Respawn and Lucas Filmgames, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. He reintroduces us to the Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis (Cameron Monaghan) who is still on the run from the Empire. He seems to be on his own, which is quite surprising considering he spent a lot of time in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order gaining the support of allies. While the trailer looks and feels stunning, these visuals aren’t really from in-game footage.
The Star Wars Jedi: Survivor doesn’t reveal much about the plot, but features just about enough Star Wars imagery to excite die-hard fans of the brand. This further confirms that the game will release in 2023.
Douglas Reilly, vice president of Lucasfilm Games, said in a prepared statement, “We couldn’t be more thrilled to reveal Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and this next chapter in Cal Kestis’ journey with gamers around the world.”
Similarly, Monaghan said Star Wars: Survivor will be more “complex and mature” than its predecessor.
“I love when stories grow with their characters and audiences. I’m thrilled to showcase what @lucasfilm @respawn @eastarwars and I have been working on over the past few years. I’m proud to say that #JediSurvivor is a complex progression, mature and exciting for bold and ambitious play,” Monaghan tweeted.
Upon its 2019 debut, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order received “generally favorable reviews” according to Metacritic, with users praising it for combining campaign mode with action RPG mechanics. So, can Star Wars Jedi: Survivor take the franchise to new heights? We’ll find out when it releases on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC next year.
