Spotify kills the heart icon, replacing it with a plus

Spotify announced it was slaying the heart icon today. But don’t worry, it’s all for a higher purpose.
Before, you had the heart icon “to mark songs you wanted to save,” Spotify explains in a blog post, and the “Add to Playlist” icon to add tracks or episodes to your favorite playlist.
From now on you will have a plus icon instead. When you tap more, you can save and choose the destination for any song, playlist, or podcast with just a tap.
To record a song or podcast episode, tap the plus button. Once your choice has been successfully added to liked songs or your episodes, the plus will become a green tick. By tapping the green tick, you will be able to change the destination of the saved content. Clicking more also lets you add an entire album, playlist, or audiobook to your library.
Spotify says this is the latest step in an ongoing effort to “create a more intuitive experience – all making it easier for you to engage with the music and podcasts you love”.
The new plus icon/button is rolling out today to all users on iOS and Android, and will be available on other platforms “in the coming weeks.”
