Sony Xperia 1 V Leaked Renders Show Three Rear Cameras, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC Tiped

Design renders of the Sony Xperia 1 V have leaked online, giving enthusiasts a glimpse of Sony’s alleged smartphone. The phone is said to be the successor to last year’s flagship offering – Sony Xperia 1 IV. The new Sony Xperia 1 V sports a similar design language to its predecessor. The phone appears to have a triple rear camera setup. It is shown with a headphone jack and a camera trigger. The Sony Xperia 1 V is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, coupled with 16 GB of RAM. It could be backed by a 5,000 mAh battery.

Tipster Steve H. McFly (@OnLeaks), in conjunction with Greensmartphones, has leaked renders and specs of the upcoming Sony Xperia 1 V. The purported renders show the handset in a matte finish with Sony branding on the rear. The design of the unannounced phone follows in the footsteps of the Sony Xperia 1 IV. He is seen with a square design and is shown to have thin bezels on all sides. The back appears to be equipped with a triple rear camera setup, housed vertically within the camera island. The LED flash is also seen placed next to the sensors.

Additionally, the power button and volume rocker are visible on the left spine of the Sony Xperia 1 V. There is also a camera shutter button below the power button that could be used to capture photos. A microphone, USB Type-C port, speaker grill, and SIM tray are visible at the bottom, while a 3.5mm headphone jack and secondary microphone are displayed at the top.

According to the leak, the Sony Xperia 1 V will feature a 6.5-inch display. It could be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, coupled with 16 GB of RAM. For optics, Sony may pack a triple rear camera on the upcoming device, comprising a 48-megapixel wide-angle sensor and two 12-megapixel sensors. Additionally, there could be a 12-megapixel selfie sensor. It should be backed by a 5,000 mAh battery. The handset could measure around 161.0 x 69.3 x 8.5mm.

Sony has yet to officially reveal any details regarding the Sony Xperia 1 V. However, the leak claims that the handset will be unveiled in a few weeks.

The Sony Xperia 1 IV was launched in May last year with a price tag of $1,599 (about Rs 123,500) in the United States. It features a 6.5-inch 4K HDR OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. A triple rear camera, a 12-megapixel selfie camera and a 5,000 mAh battery are other highlights of the device.
