She-Hulk’s release date has been moved to August 18 and will now air on Thursdays instead of Wednesdays
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law will now release one day later than planned. Marvel Moves Weekly Release Dates to Thursday for She-Hulkinstead of the typical Wednesday schedule that fans have grown accustomed to by now. She-Hulk, starring Tatiana Maslany, will now begin streaming August 18, exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar – with the remaining episodes releasing the following Thursdays. The nine-episode series is the latest original series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 4 lineup, and also stars Mark Ruffalo and Tim Roth.
The announcement was made ahead of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law’s virtual TCA (Television Critics Association) panel. It wouldn’t be the first time Disney has moved things around, as their original shows premiered on Fridays. With the release of Tom Hiddleston-led Loki, the days have been shifted to Wednesday, with all other Disney+ original series following suit. Even Obi Wan Kenobiwhich originally debuted on a Friday, released all of its subsequent episodes on Wednesdays.
Disney+ likely made this decision to avoid overlap with the upcoming Star Wars series Andor. Prior to the events of Rogue One, the series was originally scheduled for release on August 31, but has since been delayed by a month, with a three-episode special premiere scheduled for September 21. -season of episodes, of which the first five will be released before Andor makes its debut. By giving each franchise its own slot, Disney+ manages to keep viewers engaged with two highly anticipated titles in the future. Ms. Marvel and Obi Wan Kenobi were the first to be affected by said issue, as they both released new episodes on Wednesday.
Marvel has unveiled a new trailer for She-Hulk at San Diego Comic-Con, discussing Bruce Banner’s (Ruffalo) relationship with his cousin Jennifer Walters (Maslany), as they practice controlling their powers while in their bulky green mutated form. But unlike the Hulk, Walters appears to be stuck in form while awake, while reverting to normal while asleep. the She-Hulk The trailer also revealed the villainous Abomination, played by Roth, who started life as a special ops commander before being transformed into said creature.
The wonky VFX in She-Hulk was also a topic of discussion at the TCA event. “I feel incredibly respectful of the talent of these artists and the speed with which they have to work. Obviously like a lot faster than they probably should be given in terms of producing these things. I know there are a lot of eyes on the CG and a lot of criticism, but I think we have to be very aware that the working conditions are not always optimal,” said co-director Jessica Gao in a statement to Deadline.
Disney wouldn’t be the only streaming platform experimenting with schedules, as we recently saw Netflix split seasons for Arcane and Stranger Things 4 (into Vol. 1 and Vol. 2).
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law also stars Benedict Wong as Wong, the Sorcerer Supreme, bringer of bad news. A Daredevil cameo from Charlie Cox is also expected. He gets his own show, Daredevil: Born Again, in early 2024.
The new Marvel series She-Hulk also stars Jameela Jamil, Josh Segarra, Ginger Gonzaga, Jon Bass and Renée Elise Goldsberry.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law will be available to stream, exclusively on Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar on August 18. In India, She-Hulk is available in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.
