Season 3 of The Boys will crossover with spin-off series The Boys Presents: Varsity

The boys season 3 will have a crossover with its upcoming spin-off series The Boys Presents: Varsity, which is currently in production, showrunner Eric Kripke has confirmed. In a new interview, he said that some of the stories featured in the recently completed third season of The boys will be “transferred” to Varsity in some way. Kripke further hinted that several “familiar faces” from the superhero series could appear on Varsity should the need arise. However, he did not mention any specific names, and the writer did not comment on any specific plot details.
Kripke told Deadline, “There’s definitely a crossover, and we’re doing our best to design a universe that sees some of the issues and storylines from Season 3 move into the first season of Varsity,” Kripke said.
“Like there’s a presidential campaign in the background of this season, and there are certain things happening at this school that are both in reaction to season 3 of The boys”
Kripke further added that Varsity will also lay the groundwork for The boys season 4, which is currently in the script stage.
“There’s Soldier Boy and so on, but also new storylines that unfold in this season of the spin-off that we need to pick up and bring into season 4 of the show,” he said.
Varsity, a college series, is billed as a story about the “lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they test their physical, sexual, and moral limits, competing for the best contracts in the best cities. Part college show, part Hunger Games – with all the heart, satire and torpor of The boys.”
Varsity, the second spin-off from The boys after The Boys Presents: Diabolical, doesn’t yet have a release date or window but is expected to land in 2023.
The boys season 4, on the other hand, is being written. The fourth season and the recently concluded third will be tied to Varsity in some way.
The three seasons of The boys are available on Amazon Prime Video.
