Samsung’s Galaxy S23 phones could see a price increase

If you were considering upgrading to Samsung’s next Galaxy S23 series, you might have to shell out more money than before, depending on where you live. According to a reliable source, Roland Quandt, the price of Samsung’s upcoming flagship phones is expected to increase in parts of Europe compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy S22 series. If you live in the United States, however, the prices should remain the same.

On Twitter, When T released prices for Samsung’s next line of flagship phones in Spain, saying the Galaxy S23 will start at 959 euros for the model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The tweet also states that a Galaxy S23 Ultra with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage will cost $1,589. According to Samsung’s Spanish site, the Galaxy S22 costs 859 euros and the Galaxy S22 Ultra costs 1,459 euros. Similar price increases are also expected in Germany and the Czech Republic. 9to5Google reported that the Galaxy S23 phones could cost AU$100 more than the S22 series.

Rumors of price increases come as inflation remains at stubbornly high levels, putting upward pressure on the price of components and raw materials needed to build a phone.

Samsung has announced that it will hold its annual Unpacked event in San Francisco on February 1. It will likely feature the high-end Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra if the company maintains the pattern it has followed for the past three generations.

Samsung did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
