Samsung Introduces New Ultra Lightweight Galaxy Book 3 Laptop

Samsung has opened reservations for the a-series Galaxy S23, but it’s not just that – you can also reserve a new Galaxy Book laptop. There are no further details on either option, but it’s clear the phones are Android’s new flagships, while the laptop option likely refers to the next series. Galaxy Book 3.

We expect to see a Galaxy Book 3 Pro and a Pro 360, as well as a new top model – the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra. Previously, the Galaxy Book 2 Pro and Galaxy Book Odyssey were at the top of the food chain.

The exact size of the Ultra display is unknown at this time, but it’s said to have a full-size keyboard with a number pad and will most likely feature a 13th Gen Intel Core processor. One of its main selling points is rumored to be its lightweight design.

The Samsung Galaxy Book 3 Ultra is said to be lighter than the Dell XPS 15 and even Apple MacBook Pro models. The XPS is a 15.6-inch laptop that weighs between 1.92 kg and 2.1 kg (4.22-4.62 lbs). The MacBook Pro is available in two sizes: 14″ (1.6 kg/3.5 lb) and 16″ (2.1-2.2 kg/4.7-4.8 lb).

There are lighter laptops on the market, for example a 17-inch LG gram tips the scales at just 1.43 kg / 3.16 lbs. And there’s talk of a 15-inch MacBook Air coming next year. This new high-end Samsung ultrabook is therefore going to face stiff competition, so it better have more to offer than light weight – the new Galaxy Book 3 series is set to be unveiled on February 1 alongside the Galaxy S23 series.
