Samsung Galaxy Watch6 will be powered by a new, more capable chipset

Now there’s more good news about Samsung’s wearables for this year. According to a new rumor, the Galaxy Watch6 series will be powered by a new chipset, called Exynos W980. This should be over 10% faster than the Exynos W920 which powers both the Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch5 families.

An improved SoC is definitely a good thing to have, especially since something like this wasn’t on the list of improvements in the Galaxy Watch5 lineup last year over 2021’s Galaxy Watch4 devices.

Moreover, the new Exynos W980 could apparently be manufactured on a 5nm process by Samsung itself, and this switching process could lead to improved battery life for future wearables powered by it. .

The Galaxy Watch6 will also feature a larger, higher-resolution screen, with thinner bezels and higher-capacity batteries. These are shaping up to be great upgrades, especially for those looking to upgrade from the Galaxy Watch4 generation.
