Samsung’s latest technologies demonstrate its commitment to a more sustainable future, showcased to visitors at the world’s leading AV and systems integration trade show in Barcelona
Samsung Electronics is showcasing the future of sustainable digital signage at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2023 in Barcelona, with new technologies and eco-responsible efforts guided by the company’s new environmental strategy.

Building technologies that contribute to eco-conscious digital signage
At ISE this year, Samsung will highlight the company’s sustainability initiatives based on its new environmental strategy announced in September 2022. Pre-registered visitors will be able to see Samsung’s environmental vision come to life, with the sustainability zone on the stand showcasing eco-responsible practices applied to digital signage products. These practices are based on the five stages of the product life cycle — supply, production, distribution, use and recycling.
Samsung’s 2023 smart signage products (QHC, QMC, QBC) are about 40% thinner than previous models with a thickness of 28.5mm. Thanks to this, the number of shipping containers needed for logistics after production can be reduced by more than 20%.1 compared to the previous model. In addition, smart signage products support automatic screen brightness adjustment by adopting an illuminance sensor that reacts to surrounding lighting conditions, helping users to automatically manage their energy consumption. Additionally, the resin used for the back covers contains 10% post-consumer material (PCM).

Its soon-to-be-announced cloud-based display platform will offer a wide range of energy-saving solutions that will allow users to manage and reduce their energy consumption. New solutions include real-time energy consumption monitoring, timed luminance scheduling, remote brightness adjustment, and automatic device management. This comprehensive platform will integrate and connect LCD signage, LED signage and B2B TVs to deliver a seamless user experience.
Presentation of the new outdoor signage 2023 — Large LED screens and small size screens unveiled
Samsung announces new signage products at ISE 2023. First, the company will launch its 2023 outdoor LED signage (model name: XHB series), designed for the sports industry and spectacular iconic venues.
The XHB series is available in four models: P6 (6mm pixel pitch), P8, P10 and P16, all of which produce light with an astonishing peak brightness of 8,000 nits, exceptionally clear and stunning image quality . — even in direct sunlight. In addition, XHB’s standardized module design ensures flexible design and installation, including Concave (2500R maximum curvature), Convex, S shape, Fascia and 90°L type.
With a design that is twice as thin as the previous model, the XHB Series can be installed seamlessly, with installation time also more than halved for greater convenience. Additionally, improved fuel efficiency means the XHB reduces power consumption by more than 15% compared to its predecessor and can reduce approximately 2,492 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year, which is equivalent to the amount of CO2 sequestered by approximately 290,000 30-year-old pines. in a year.2

Finally, Samsung introduces a 24-inch small-size outdoor signage display (model name: OH24B) to meet the needs of the electric vehicle (EV) charger market. As demand for electric vehicles continues to grow, it is important to provide solutions that enable a more connected and enjoyable charging experience while providing upsell opportunities for businesses and retailers.
Outdoor signage excels in both durability and outdoor visibility in a wide range of diverse conditions. This high resiliency and versatility is provided by a maximum brightness of 1,500 nits and a thin metal design, as well as water, dust and liquid resistance (IP66, ingress protection) and glass protection of IK-10 level. A high temperature rigid liquid crystal panel is also applied to provide extra durability even under strong sunlight. In addition, the display offers removable Wi-Fi/Bluetooth accessories, which can optimize the reception rate depending on the installation conditions. Finally, small signage offers unparalleled energy efficiency with the lowest power consumption in the industry3 (a maximum of 90W) above 20 inches, perfect for an EV charging station that requires 24/7 operation and information delivery.
New kiosk and exclusive Flip Pro solution provide better device compatibility
Samsung also announces the latest model, the Windows version “Samsung Kiosk” (model name: KMC-W). In addition to the existing model running Tizen (OS), the Windows version “Samsung Kiosk” is compatible with Windows 10 IoT Enterprise OS to expand customers’ choices.
This new kiosk adopts Intel’s 11th generation Intel Core processor. It is equipped with 8GB DRAM and 256GB SSD, delivering fast processing and large storage space to meet rapidly changing industry demands beyond healthcare, hospitality and retail.
The company will introduce a new solution, exclusive to the “Samsung Flip”, meeting the demand of educators and businesses to be connected simultaneously to various devices. It allows users to bring content or applications from their PC to the Flip by connecting a PC to the Flip. In particular, users can write over content imported from their PC on Flip’s screen and share it in real time. The new solution improves usability for remote work and provides a seamless working environment by allowing users to optimize and use the screen to connect to screens on other devices.
