Richard Iyasere (born 22 August 1968)  at Urhonigbe,  professionally known as DaddyRich or Enogie, is a veteran historical musicologist, dance choreographer , activist and a New York based politician. He is a board member of Community boards of the Bronx. In 2014, he was honored as Africa diaspora hero by Bill de Blasio.He is a pioneer  and creator of  a cosmopolitan popular dance “Akwete dance”  for Akwete music genre, also known as Edo Funk  prominently performed worldwide by Sir Victor Uwaifo.

Richard  Iyasere has collaborated  with  musicians like  Oritse Femi, Sir, Professor  Victor Uwaifo, Amb Osayomore Joseph, Fabomo, Influence Akaba, Flavour  N’abania, and others  as  a historical musicologist and  a veteran dance choreographer. In early 1980, he became known for his particular  traditional  “Akwete dance style” a dance style inspired by Akwete music genre, also known as  Edo Funk music genre, He popularized the Edo Funk  music genre sub category “Akwete music” around Europe and America.  In 1981,  Richard’s  Akwete dance style gained  popularity within the cosmopolitan, the dance style brought more success and recognition  to Akwete Music genre”,  he is the founder of a New york based entertainment company DaddyRich Productions, which he used in promoting  the Edo Funk musicians from Edo state .  In 2014, he  candidates   for African diaspora  President, in New York and  won

Richard  is known for leading political rally with various social groups, Cultural clubs   in New York, actually he is a board member of Community boards of the Bronx and one of  American – born Nigerian prominent member of  Democratic Party (United States)  in New york, he became popular for addressing social and political matters  together with Bill de Blasio and  Chirlane McCray,  He  has been referenced  to  speak about African diaspora affairs in New York. In 2014, Mayor  Bill de Blasio   described him as an “African diaspora hero”  for his immense contribution to the Bronx community .

Richard Iyasere was born at Urhonigbe town in 1968.  In 1974- 1980,  he attended Urhonigbe  primary school . In 1980-1983 he furthered  his education at Urhonigbe Grammar School , where he studied musicology at Urhonigbe, In 1983-1985 he  proceeded to Immaculate Conception College. In the year 1996-1999, he continued his education  at  Bronx Community College ( The City University of New York – Bronx Community College)

In 2021, the Okavbo (meaning the head of Urhonigbe)  nominated Richard Iyasere and  King Wadada, Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen,  for who will be the  Artistic director for  Ekaba Festival 2021.  Richard Iyasere won. as Artistic director for  Ekaba Festival 2021 Edo Excellence Awards 2019, winner  “Exemplary leader of the yearEdo Excellence  Awards 2021,winner “Edo Patriotic of the Year”
