Revealed: When Mo Salah will return to Liverpool training & stance on starting vs Leicester

An insight into the stance of Liverpool star Mohamed Salah when it comes to lining out in the club’s meeting with Leicester City this Thursday has been provided, and spells altogether positive news for the club’s supporters.

Salah, of course, has spent the last month away on international duty with Egypt.

After seeing out the full 120 minutes in the Pharaohs’ meeting with Senegal on Sunday night, in turn, it was viewed as altogether unlikely that the prolific wide-man would be in contention to feature in Liverpool’s Premier League showdown with Leicester in just three days’ time.

If the latest word stemming from the media on Monday evening is anything to go by, though, then this is precisely what Salah intends to do.

As per the reliable Paul Joyce of The Times, Jurgen Klopp’s attacking talisman has informed his manager that he intends to mark his return to training on Tuesday.

This comes with Salah having already flown back to England from Cameroon.

The former AS Roma man, in turn, is expected to push for a spot in Liverpool’s starting XI at Anfield on Thursday, ‘eager’ to play his part for the title-chasing Reds.

Mane clinches glory

Word of Salah’s keenness to link back up with his club teammates on Merseyside of course comes less than 24 hours after the 29-year-old saw his heart broken on the international front.

As alluded to above, Egypt travelled to Yaounde on Sunday evening, to face off against Senegal in the finale of the Africa Cup of Nations.

After the two nations could not be separated across a full 120 minutes, proceedings, in turn, were sent to a penalty shootout.

And Salah, pencilled in as the Pharaohs’ final spot-kick taker, was not even afforded the opportunity to step up, as Liverpool teammate and attacking partner in crime Sadio Mane rifled home the decisive kick from 12 yards, securing a first-ever AFCON title for Senegal in the process:
