A fresh round of details surrounding the predicted dismissal of Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have made their way online on Saturday evening.
The name of Norwegian tactician Solskjaer has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines once again tonight.
This comes on the back of a result which has been widely identified as the straw that broke the camel’s back, when it comes to his time on the bench on the red half of Manchester.
United made the trip to Vicarage Road for their post-international break return to action earlier today, aware that nothing but a three-point haul would suffice in their efforts to keep a quickly spiralling season from getting completely out of control.
When all was said and done, however, the situation only worsened, as the Red Devils were put to the sword in alarming fashion.
Goals from all of Josh King, Ismaila Sarr, Joao Pedro and Emmanuel Dennis assured that, upon the final whistle sounding in Hertfordshire, Watford emerged on the right side of a 4-1 scoreline.
Ole out/Zidane in?
In turn, with the pressure having already been viewed as very much on the shoulders of the aforementioned Solskjaer, it was inevitable that such a result was likely to spark fresh calls for the Norwegian to be sent on his way with immediate effect.
And, if the latest word spreading across the English media is anything to go by, then such a development now appears to have inched closer than ever before to coming to fruition.
First, as revealed by The Times, an emergency meeting was called at Old Trafford this evening, to discuss the possibility of an immediate change on the club’s bench:

And now, a further update has been forthcoming, pointing towards Solskjaer’s Red Devils stint reaching an imminent conclusion.
As per Neil Custis of SunSport, the 48-year-old has indeed taken charge of his final game in the club’s dugout, ahead of being sacked ‘within 48 hours’.
Not only that, but his replacement has already been identified, with owners the Glazers ‘itching to replace him with Zinedine Zidane’.
Solskjaer’s exit is expected to set those in a position of power at United back a hefty £7.5 million, owing to the new three-year deal which the ex-hitman put pen to paper on earlier this year.
