Revealed: The Arsenal star who has made the most appearances under Mikel Arteta
Mikel Arteta’s up and down Arsenal stint
Mikel Arteta is now in the midst of his third season at Arsenal.
Granted, he did take over midway through 2019/20 following Unai Emery’s sacking, but the Spaniard only managed to guide the Gunners to an 8th placed finish that term.
Last season represented Arteta’s first full year at the helm, and with big signings such as Thomas Partey and Gabriel Magalhaes on board, fans were likely expecting big things from their side.
However, the north Londoners were once again forced to settle for 8th place last time out.
This summer, meanwhile, saw Arsenal once again fairly active in the market, addressing some problem areas and adding youth to the side.
And though those new signings took some time to gel and Arsenal had an abysmal start to the season, the Gunners have now turned their campaign around and are playing some of their best-ever football under the Spaniard.
Arsenal will face off with Liverpool in Saturday’s late Premier League clash in what is the Gunners’ biggest test since they found their feet this campaign.
But before that, Arsenal have won six and drawn two of their last eight league ties and are also still going strong in the League Cup.
Which Arsenal star has made the most appearances under Mikel Arteta?
Now, it has been revealed which player has made the most appearances under Mikel Arteta.
And, as per football.london citing sources from Reddit, that man is Bukayo Saka, who has notched 82 competitive outings since Arteta took the reins.
Interestingly, Nicolas Pepe is in second place with 79 appearances whilst Emile Smith Rowe does not actually crack the top 10.
This though, likely has something to do with Smith Rowe not being handed a chance by Arteta still December of last year.
