The Red Magic 8 Pro arrives on December 26, having missed its original December 16 launch date for unknown reasons. Nubia has now confirmed some details about the upcoming phone and specifically its battery.

A few teasers posted on Weibo reveal that the upcoming gaming-oriented smartphone will have a 6,000 mAh battery. And it will support charging up to 165W, which means a full charge will take less than a quarter of an hour.

The nubia Red Magic 8 Pro will have an 8C battery (there are eight separate cells for safety and efficiency) and will be charged with three different outputs simultaneously to protect the device. According to the ZTE-owned brand, the phone will charge from 0-100% in just 14 minutes with the proprietary 165W charger and USB-C to USB-C cable.

The teasers also mention a 47-hour battery life, but that doesn’t say much without a specific usage pattern.

Red Magic’s current flagship, the 7S Pro, was already performing very well, boasting an endurance rating of 110 hours in our own test. Chances are the Red Magic 8 Pro will top it.
