Tottenham vs Manchester United

Manchester United will take on Tottenham in Saturday’s late Premier League kick-off.

The tie is a huge one for both clubs, but looks set to be especially key for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his potential future at Man United.

The Red Devils are on an awful run of form, which has seen them fail to win their last four league ties, losing three, drawing one and, most shockingly of all, being smashed 5-0 at Old Trafford by bitter rivals Liverpool last weekend.

Elsewhere, Manchester United are already out of the League Cup and have been less than convincing in a fairly average Champions League group.

And, after the Liverpool loss, it was reported that Solskjaer has three games to save his job. So, with Tottenham fairly inconsistent this term and arguably the weakest side out of United’s next three ties, a win against the Lilywhites does seem essential.

Varane set to be fit for Tottenham

Ahead of the game, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would speak to the press on Friday.

During the presser, the Norwegian would provide a team news update on his side, stating that apart from the suspended Paul Pogba, everyone is fully fit. This, in turn, means that Raphael Varane, who picked up an injury on international duty earlier this month, is back for Man United:

“Of course Paul (Pogba) is suspended but, apart from that, it’s a fully fit squad. Which is a very strange position to be in, to have 25 outfield players and five keepers training. Thirty men training this week, all fit.”
