Ralf Rangnick drops Manchester United transfer hint after Chelsea
Manchester United interim boss Ralf Rangnick has dropped a major hint over the club’s plans for the summer transfer window after his side’s draw with Chelsea.
Erik ten Hag is set to take over as Man United’s permanent boss this summer. However, Ralf Rangnick is expected to then take up a consultancy role, which should see him have a decent say on who the club sign going forward.
So, given Ralf Rangnick’s recent comments, it does look as though the Red Devils are in the market for at least one, maybe two strikers this summer.
Speaking after Man United’s draw with Chelsea, the German said that the Manchester outfit must look at signing a couple of new strikers in the summer:
Ralf Rangnick praises Cristiano Ronaldo for goal but also defensive output. Still, says #MUFC must look at signing “a couple of new strikers” in the summer.
Adds: “It is important to find out what Cristiano wants to do, if he wants to stay.”

Cristiano Ronaldo rescues Manchester United
Ralf Rangnick’s comments come after yet another subpar display from Man United.
Yes, they did get a draw with Chelsea, but the game itself was not exactly great from a United viewpoint.
The home side managed just three shots on target at Old Trafford and had just 35 per cent of the possession on the day.
In truth, United were not great, but were simply bailed out by a moment of brilliance from Cristiano Ronaldo:
