Qatar 2022:’ Messi Doesn’t Scare Us’ —France Defender, Hernandez

France left-back Theo Hernandez has side Lionel Messi doesn’t scare the reigning world champions as they prepare to take on Argentina in Sunday’s World Cup final.

Framce booked their place in a second successive final with a 2-0 victory over surprise team of the Morocco on Wednesday evening, leaving them just one win away from becoming the first team to retain the World Cup since Brazil in 1962.

Hernandez scored France’s first goal against Morocco before substitute Randal Muani added the second.

Their opponents in the final, Argentina, have been led through the tournament by Messi who has managed five goals and three assists in his six games in Qatar.

Despite Messi’s stunning record and his sky-high reputation, Hernandez has insisted then that he and his France teammates aren’t scared of the PSG star.

“Playing two World Cup finals in a row is an incredible moment,” Hernandez told Italian station RAI Sport.

“We did a good job, it was hard, but we are in the final.

“We will work hard to win this final. Now we have to think about the final. I’m tired, but it’s nice to win a World Cup semi-final.

“Now let’s recover for Sunday. Messi doesn’t scare us, Argentina are an incredible team but we have a few days to work.”
