
Qatar 2022: Gavi Thrilled To MVP Award In Spain’s Win Against Costa Rica

Barcelona midfielder, Gavi can’t hide his excitement after claiming the Most Valuable Player award in Spain’s 7-0 thrashing of Costa Rica
Spain walloped Costa Rica 7-0 on November 23 at the Al Thumama Stadium.
Goals from Dani Olmo, Marco Asensio and a Ferran Torres penalty gave Spain a 3-0 lead at halftime.
Torres scored again in the 54th minute, Gavi, Carlos Soler and Alvaro Morata completed the rout.
Gavi expressed joy at winning the man of the match award.
“It’s the best of my dreams, I never imagined this. I’m delighted to be achieving this,” Barcablaugranes.com quoted Gavi as saying.
“I’m very happy to win it and I’m happy to win the MVP, we played a great game.
“Pedri and I are very good friends off the pitch and on the pitch there is not much to say, he’s a spectacular player and it’s very easy to play alongside him.”
Gavi has three goals in 14 caps for Spain. He has registered one assist in 14 Laliga games this season so far.
La Furia Roja are first in Group E with three points and a goal difference of seven while Costa Rica are fourth with zero points and a goal difference of minus seven.
Spain play Germany on Sunday, November 27 at the Al Bayt Stadium.
