PUBG: Battlegrounds has launched Deston, its new map and the first to be released since the battle royale game went free-to-play earlier this year, for PC. The game’s official Twitter account confirmed the news with a tweet that read, “Deston and Update 18.2 are now live on PC servers. Can you win a chicken dinner on the first day of the new menu? Also be sure to check out new and updated Deston information at Console users will have to wait a bit longer to get their hands on the card, however, as Deston will release on July 21, almost a week later, for Xbox Series S/X, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.

The official PUBG: Battlegrounds YouTube channel has also shared a trailer of Deston to give users an idea of what to expect from the map. Deston’s two-minute, 42-second gameplay trailer is an action-packed affair, featuring impressive visuals and transporting us to a dangerous place where “no team has gone before.” Given the genre of the game, some of the footage is – unsurprisingly – not for the faint-hearted.

Deston introduces the Ascenders, mechanized vertical ziplines to help players scale heights, in the PUBG: Battlegrounds universe. In simple terms, they are elevators without walls, ceilings or floors. Deston also features new vehicles, such as the Pillar Car, and a ton of new weapons, like the MP9 SMG and 012 Shotgun.

PUBG: Battlegrounds’ newest map, Deston, is set in a location that features a unique mix of rich vegetation in some areas and massive cities in others, as it has already been hit by a massive hurricane. Deston is also home to Ripton, a town center that offers one of the largest expanses in the game despite being submerged in water. The map is also home to the tallest skyscraper in PUBG history.

Deston, the new PUBG: Battlegrounds map, is available now on PC and will be available on July 21 on Xbox Series S/X, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5
