Police arrest manager of Blackdoor Lifestyle Lounge in Sandton

Police arrest manager of Blackdoor Lifestyle Lounge in SandtonPolice have arrested the manager of the popular Blackdoor Lifestyle Lounge in Sandton, Johannesburg.

The police said the manager was arrested for breaking lockdown regulations.

This shut down came after 300 patrons were allegedly found in the club after the midnight curfew.

In the video footage of the bust, cars were seen parked to full capacity.

Police minister Bheki Cele, who was also present during the bust, indicated that social distancing rule was flouted and no-one wore a mask.

“It tells you that if the second waves comes, not many will survive.”

Cele’s spokesperson Lirandzu Themba confirmed the arrest of Blackdoor’s manager for operating a business without a liquor licence and breaking the lockdown level one regulations.

He was detained at Sandton police station and over R800,000 worth of liquor was seized.

On the other hand, employees of Midrand at XO Lounge, formerly known as Teazers, were found on the premises after midnight.

They had to pay a R1,000 fine each to be released.
