Poco X5 Pro leaks with Snapdragon 778G, vanilla X5 with Snapdragon 695 follows

A week ago the next Poco X5 was spotted in the hands of a cricketer star, but did you know there’s also a Pro version on the way? This was news for us too, but a European retailer has already listed the device as “coming soon” and released an almost complete spec sheet.

The Xiaomi Poco X5 Pro features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 px (20:9), according to the retailer. The refresh rate is unfortunately not mentioned, but it should be 120Hz like the Poco X4 Pro.

Either way, the phone is powered by the Snapdragon 778G, a solid and all-around upgrade over the 695 found inside the X4 Pro. The retailer lists two memory configurations – 6/128GB and 8/256GB – both of which have a microSD card slot. The phone apparently runs Android 12 with MIUI 14 for Poco.

The main camera has a large 108MP 1/1.52″ image sensor (0.7µm pixels) with an f/1.9 aperture like last year’s model. Thanks to the chipset improved, however, 4K video recording is now possible (at 30fps, but still).Other cameras on the back are an 8MP ultrawide (118°) and a 2MP macro. 16-megapixel selfie camera.

The power system is the same as before with a large 5000mAh battery and 67W wired charging only. For protection, there’s Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and an IP68 rating – that last part doesn’t look like Poco’s MO, so it may be an error on the spec sheet (the X4 Pro is only rated for IP53).

There’s no word on pricing yet. At launch, the X4 Pro cost €300 for a 6/128GB model (slightly less with the early sign-up price) and €350 for the 8/256GB model. doesn’t seem to change much, but this Snapdragon 778G will have a big impact on performance. As for the colors, you will have three choices: Blue, Black and, of course, Poco Yellow.

The retailer also lists the details of the Xiaomi Poco X5. This one sticks to the Snapdragon 695 (as seen in Geekbench) and has a 6.67-inch (1080 x 2400 pixel) AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, which makes us think that the Pro also has a 120Hz display. The base X5 only has an IP54 rating, which seems more believable.

This vanilla model is similar to the Pro, but with a few downgrades, starting with the 48MP main camera, which is still joined by an 8MP ultrawide (118°) and 2MP macro (don’t count on 4K, though). The selfie camera is down to 13MP.

Another change concerns the battery – the capacity remains at 5000 mAh, the charging speed drops to 33 W.

Like its sibling, the Poco X5 is listed with 6/128GB and 8/256GB configurations (expandable with a microSD). There’s no pricing information and no Poco X4 to use as a guide. The X5 offers three color choices: green, blue, and black.

Note: Poco X5 Pro image is same as X4 Pro. Maybe Xiaomi didn’t change the design, maybe the retailer reused an old image. The specifications seem very close to the Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed.

As for the vanilla X5, the image looks remarkably similar to the Redmi K50i although the specs have little in common (also the colors listed do not match the images). The specs are much closer to the Redmi Note 12 except for the chipset.
