The Poco X5 Pro will be officially announced for the Indian market on February 6 at 5:30 p.m. local time. This information comes directly from Poco India itself, via its official Twitter account, so the rumors have been unfolding. Not only that, but the leaked image we showed you last week is indeed the one being used to reveal the date and time of the unveiling.

And the star of the show, apart from the next phone itself, is Hardik Pandya, a very popular Indian cricketer. His involvement in the launch of the Poco X5 Pro was first disclosed around two weeks ago when he was spotted taking a call on the yet-unreleased handset.

The Poco X5 Pro will apparently give you “license to go MAD”, as well as “kiss the BAD” and “kiss the Bad-ass”, according to Poco India’s Twitter account and its ongoing teaser campaign. The display will be “magnifiXent”, and the phone will let you “crush your competitors” in games and “make them say your name” (“them” as in “your competitors”, we assume).

These are, as usual, bold claims from Poco. If we go by past leaks and rumors, the X5 Pro is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 778G chipset, paired with 6/128GB of RAM/storage or 8/256GB. The screen is said to be a 6.67″ AMOLED at 1080×2400 resolution, the main camera is a 108MP camera, flanked by an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro shooter, while on the front you get a snapper 16MP selfie.

The Poco X5 Pro is said to have a 5,000mAh battery with support for 67W wired charging (and no wireless charging), and the phone runs Android 12 with MIUI 14 on top. We’re now less than a week away from confirming (or disproving) those specs, so stay tuned.
