Poco C55 officially teased for India just as live image leaks
Poco’s entry-level C line is gearing up for a new member in the form of the Poco C55. Poco’s official Twitter account for India today started teasing the upcoming device, promising as you can see it delivers “Speed and swag”.
Sure, this may sound like mundane marketing, but it’s a bit more than that. “Avoiding cases”? “Good looks”?

It turns out that both of these things have to do with the design of the phone’s back, which the quick teaser video above alludes to. We know this because a prolific leakster shared the image you can see below, which shows the Poco C55 will have a leatherette look, with faux stitching running through the middle, vertically.
I love the colors and finishes that POCO has recently chosen for its products. Here’s your first look at the upcoming C-series budget smartphone.

There’s a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor housed in the huge black island at the top, flanked by a large Poco logo on the right and a dual-camera system on the left. Between these cameras there is a circle for the LED flash and another circle that says “AI”.
As the model name suggests, the Poco C55 should be the successor to the Poco C50. But that’s not possible, since the C50 was just unveiled last month. We therefore assume that it is a more capable device than that, while still remaining in the entry-level category.
The camera island design bears an uncanny resemblance to that of the Redmi 12C, so it could be that the Poco C55 is nothing but a rebranded version of that model. If so, it will have a 6.71-inch 720×1650 LCD touchscreen, MediaTek Helio G85 SoC, 4/6GB RAM, 64/128GB storage, 50MP rear camera with depth sensor 0.08MP alongside, a 5MP selfie snapper and a 5,000mAh battery with 10W wired charging support.
Compared to the Poco C50, the C55 would therefore have a larger screen, a better chipset, more RAM and storage, and a higher resolution main camera.
