A photograph of Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson has garnered plenty of attention on Monday evening.

Eddie Howe’s troops, of course, are currently locked in action at St. James’ Park.

Fresh off an alarming 5-0 drubbing at the hands of Manchester City last time out, the Magpies have welcomed top-4 chasing Arsenal to Tyneside, for the club’s penultimate outing of the Premier League campaign.

The aforementioned Wilson, for his part, was chosen to lead the line for the evening’s hosts, his first start since all the way back in December when the former Bournemouth standout suffered a nasty Achilles injury.

As alluded to above, though, less than 30 minutes into his return to starting duties, Wilson was back in the wars.

On the back of an aerial challenge, the 30-year-old saw one of his two front teeth knocked back into his mouth, no doubt set to fall out at any moment.

Wilson, though, to his credit, nevertheless returned to the pitch on the back of minimal medical treatment, a testament to his commitment to the Newcastle cause.

Turning attentions towards the action itself at St. James’ this evening, with 45 minutes played, the two sides remain deadlocked at 0-0.

Concerningly for Arsenal, though, it is Newcastle who have enjoyed much the better of things thus far, essentially pinning the visitors inside their own half throughout the first-half.

Allan Saint-Maximin, meanwhile, was responsible for the game’s best goalscoring opportunity, having forced Aaron Ramsdale into an excellent near-post save with 35 minutes on the clock.
