Oppo silently launches Reno8 T and Reno8 T 5G

Oppo released the Reno8 T and Reno8 T 5G midrangers without much fanfare. The devices were simply uploaded to the company’s Vietnamese website, and online retailers followed their listings.
The LTE-only smartphone has a Mediatek chipset and a 100MP camera, while the 5G version has a Qualcomm chip and a 108MP main shooter.

This smartphone brings a 6.43-inch AMOLED with 90Hz refresh rate and FullHD+ resolution. It comes with a touch sampling rate of 180Hz and Gorilla Glass 5 on top. The 32MP selfie camera sits in the top left corner inside a punch hole.
There are three more cameras on the back. Oppo isn’t revealing details of the 100MP main shooter, but if that’s its native resolution, that would be an industry first. The other two units are a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro camera. There’s a light ring around the main camera that can act as a customizable notification light.
Inside we have a Helio G99 chipset and only one memory option – 8/256 GB. There is a microSD slot for additional storage.
The Reno8 T comes with a 5,000mAh battery and SuperVOOC fast charging. The company hasn’t said exactly what the rate is, so we assume it’s the lowest possible for this brand – 33W.
Other connectivity options include a 3.5mm audio jack on the bottom, a USB-C port, Bluetooth 5.3, and support for all major GNSS. The operating system is ColorOS 13, based on Android 13.
The Reno8 T is available in two colors – base Starlight Black and leather Sunset Orange. The price is set at 8.49 million VND, or $365. The phone is already on sale at major online retailers in Vietnam.

The launch of this midranger is a bit more confusing as Vietnam is not expected to see a wide deployment of these networks for some time due to infrastructure limitations. However, the phone has a different chipset, better screen and even faster charging, so maybe it will still find its place.
The Reno8 T 5G is powered by a Snapdragon 695 and comes with 8GB of RAM.
The 108MP main camera has AF and an f/1.7 aperture and still has two 2MP sensors keeping it company – one for macro images, the other for depth data. The 32MP selfie on the front is located in a centered punch hole this time.
The 6.7″ Reno8 T 5G is built around a 10-bit FullHD+ resolution OLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, and 360Hz touch sampling rate. curved in 2.5D and, according to the official site, can reach a brightness of up to 950 nits.
The 4,800mAh battery again comes with SuperVOOC, but this time Oppo has revealed fast charging – it’s 67W with the required adapter that comes in the retail box.
The Reno8 T 5G doesn’t have a 3.5mm audio jack, but comes with the same ColorOS 13 out of the box.
Oppo Reno8 T 5G is available in Starlight Black and Dawn Gold. The device is up for pre-order at 9.9 million VND, or about $430. Most Vietnamese stores pair the device with a Bluetooth speaker that also works as a bedside lamp. Sales in the South Asian country will begin on February 10.
