Oppo Find X6 release date, price and specs rumors

The Oppo Find X5 was launched in the spring of 2022, which means the launch of the next generation – the Find X6 and Find X6 Pro – is just around the corner.

The leaks have already started, as have the first official announcements, and we expect to know a bit more about the chipsets, cameras and displays of the two flagship phones expected next year.

When will the Oppo Find X6 be released?

There is no confirmed date yet when we will see the Find X6. Of course, we can use previous patterns to give us an idea of ​​when this might happen. Here’s how they lined up:

• Oppo Find X3 – March 2021

As you can see from the diagram above, March is the window that Oppo uses to release new generations of Find X models, so it seems very likely that the Oppo Find X6 will arrive in March 2023. Based on Oppo’s track record, it will arrive with a global launch, although that won’t include the US.

You might be wondering what happened to the Find X4 – well, number 4 is considered unlucky in China, where Oppo is based, so the choice was made to just skip it and go straight to the X5 range in place.

How much will the Oppo Find X6 cost?

Again, there’s no confirmed price on the Find X6 range, so we’ll have to go back to previous models to give us a hint. For convenience, we break them down by model. First there is the normal model:

We don’t expect Oppo to stray too far in price from the Find X5 range, which is already in direct competition with Samsung and Xiaomi, but if current inflation trends continue, the price may well rise a little. little.

What will the specifications of the Oppo Find X6 be?

As the planned launch of the Oppo Find X6 is still quite a ways off, there have been few specs leaks so far, but details are starting to trickle out – and Oppo has even started its own official announcements.

Let’s start with the design, where it looks like Oppo is reinventing the line’s design language. That’s according to leaker EvLeaks at least, who is share this image of a phone he doesn’t name, but which is presumably part of the Find X6 range – and most likely the Pro model, given what appears to be a periscope lens on the bottom left of the camera module.

If so, it’s a big departure from the molded look of the previous two generations, to something much more conservative – albeit with an oversized camera and prominent Hasselblad logo.

When it comes to actual specs, we’ve heard a bit about chipsets. Oppo itself has confirmed that it will use the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip in its upcoming Find X series phones, i.e. the Find X6.

This doesn’t necessarily mean 8 Gen 2 will appear in every Find X6 handset. Weibo leaker Digital Agent 007 claims that while the Find X6 Pro will use 8 Gen 2, the regular Find X6 will use the older 8+ Gen 1. Sounds plausible, but take it with a pinch of salt, because it doesn’t isn’t a leaker that we’ve seen a lot in the past.

We may see even more variations. The Find X5 Pro also launched in a separate version with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000, at least in China, and we might see the same again with its successor, the Dimensity 9200.

In a brief report, the best-known leaker Digital Chat Station also hinted at displays, suggesting that we’ll see a 2K panel on the X6 Pro and a 1.5K panel on the X6 – a term we’re starting to see for itself. refer to a horizontal resolution of 1220 pixels. There’s no word on the actual display tech, but expect at least 120Hz AMOLED panels.

Then there are the cameras. Again, Digital Chat Station is our source, reporting that we’ll see a trio of 50Mp sensors on the back of the Find X6 Pro: the 1in Sony IMX989 for the main camera with OIS (the same sensor found in the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, and is expected to feature in the Xiaomi 13 Pro), with the IMX890 used for both ultra-wide and 2.7x optical zoom with OIS. It will apparently be the same camera setup as the OnePlus 11 Pro.

Impressively, Digital Chat Station adds that the Find X6 Pro will be able to record 4K HDR video in night mode when using the 1-inch IMX989 sensor, thanks in part to the Find X6’s MariSilicon X image processing chip. telephone. We’ll supposedly see a similar setup on the regular Find X6, but with two 50Mp sensors and one 32Mp sensor – probably the lowest resolution for telephoto.
